Karma Theory

What is a Karma

Karma is the sum of a person’s good and bad actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as affecting their future. In an informal way, the good or bad effect of doing something

What is bad and what is good for you
If you go through a really bad experience, it's a good experience because these are invaluable. What you learn through unpleasant moments in your life is invaluable. So, Karma is not the problem; how you carry it is.

Good Karma and Bad Karma are a myth!!!

In other words, it is hard to explain that good or bad Karma like life itself goes in cycles. There is a wise saying that you brought nothing when you were born and you take nothing with you when you die, yet the Karma seems to follow you from life to life as a permanent appendage.

Can good Karma, cancel out bad Karma?

Sadhguru explains, that while the residue of the past has an impact, the karma of this moment is always in our hands. Drop any esoteric ideas of karma, Sadhguru says, as karma or memory is not the problem

And is our life predestined or can we change it by Karma?

Let's understand this word, I know this has become part of the English Lexicon. Karma is an English word now. The word Karma means action. As you sit here, there is physical action going on, there is mental action going on, emotional activity going on, and energy activity going on in every one of us. Whether you are awake or asleep, the four dimensions of Karma are happening all the time.

This is for almost every human being doing

It is well below one per cent. If you take in a day, well below one per cent. So, when ninety-nine per cent of your actions are accidental or unconscious. This is a disaster for human life. One must understand this - this is the most profound dimension of Eastern cultures that we told you, that we told you, your life is your Karma.

What if we say, your life is your Karma

Your experience is entirely determined by you. This is what the word Karma means. Unfortunately, it has become something else here. Karma means action. When we say, your life is your Karma, we are saying your life is entirely your making 100%.
What happens in the world, there are many many forces involved in what happens within me, it's 100% me if you don't take charge of this. Then you're an accidental life and when you are an accidental life, anxiety is very natural
As I said, your life is your Karma, the way you do it, the way it happens. There is no other way
Moreover, Your life is your Karma. This means your life is your making. No manager is sitting up there and managing you. Your life is your Karma; the way you do it is the way it happens.

Why is the Karmic structure a very complex mess?

Karma- is probably one of the most misunderstood words, it has been misinterpreted in a million different ways. Karma is a complex web of chains. But there is just one single pin. Just in case, if you find it, the Karmic aspect falls off and you exist as a liberated being. The Karmic structure is a very complex web of chains. Some of them, of course, are decorated with diamonds, some are ugly, and some are rusted chains, but chains and chains. But there is just one single pin.

What is liberation and what is escape

Only because you are not able to consciously find that pin, the fundamental reason why there is a culture or there is a tradition of depending upon a Guru, for one's spiritual growth is just, that you want him to pull the plug when the time is ripe. Because in this complex web of chains, you don't know where the pin is. Right now, if you try to find it, you can go on a search forever and not find it. And if you find it, just in case, you will find it, you will dismantle it in such a way that you will dismantle your very life. To dismantle it skillfully, is just what……just the Karmic aspect falls off and you exist as a liberated being, that takes a lot of skill. It is for that skill that you come to a Guru. It is your Karma that you have to endure to your Guru.

Why do you have to bother a Guru?

If you had figured it out yourself, then you don't need to bother about the Guru. If you are in a state where you think your Karma is a burden and you must get rid of it, you are not yet ready for it. As Sadhguru says,
“To regain one's divinity one must have such a master or guru. He who faithfully follows a true guru becomes like him, for the guru helps to elevate the disciple to his own level of realisation”.

Who can free you from your Karma?

Sadhguru looks at why there is so much emphasis on the Guru’s Presence in a seeker’s life, and how the karmic structure needs to be skillfully dismantled if one has to retain life and live on as a liberated being

How do you break the Karmic Trap?

Now the essence of all this is, that the first thing is to understand the nature of how existence is happening.
Your Karma is not in what is happening to you. Your Karma is in the way you experience, and respond to what is happening to you.

You exist because of your Karma

First of all, Karma is not a theory

And it is not a punishment or a reward system in the world. Karma is a self-recording process, every experience that happens to you, every perception that you have, this system goes on recording, so that a large part of your life need not be thought through every moment. A large part of it is motor functions, and the physical world can be handled automatically. You exist because of your Karma. You don't suffer because of your Karma. You suffer because you react to the Karma. Or you are reacting to your Karma or you are reacting to someone else's Karma. It is in reacting that you suffer.

Which kind of suffering is intolerable

See, there are two types of suffering, one is physical suffering and the other is mental suffering because physical pain is one thing, multiplying that in your mind is called suffering. Physical pain is very important for our survival. If there was no physical pain, we wouldn't protect our bodies. But suffering is a physiological situation or social situation around us. Hence, Karma is not a problem. Karma is vital for your existence. You are an individual only because of your Karmic matter. Karma does not mean good or bad. It's just a memory. It's something that already happened. Is yesterday good or bad, there's no such thing as it's not alive.

Conclusion

Your joy is also your Karma. Your misery is also your Karma. Your suffering is also your Karma. Your Karma means you are doing it. Karma means action. When you say, my life is my Karma, you are admitting your life is your making. This is the most dynamic way to exist. This is the only culture on this planet that has looked at life like this. Karma is a very dynamic adult way of looking at life. This is my making right now. Right now I'm joyful, it's my making. Right now I'm miserable, it's my making, right now. Right now I'm the way I am, this is the way I am. This is entirely my making. When you say that my life is entirely my making
