What is a quarantine?
A quarantine is a period of time where someone stays at home. It’s the next step in physical distancing to “flatten the curve,” or slow the rate of infection. Isolation – different from quarantine – is when someone who is waiting to be tested for COVID-19, waiting for their test results or has tested positive is secluded to prevent them from spreading the virus to others
“No matter which situation you find yourself in, remember that taking care of yourself mentally and emotionally plays a big part in your overall health,” says Dr. Laura Maphis, a psychologist at Geisinger Medical Center.
It’s been shown that a period of just two weeks in quarantine can be linked with serious mental health issues, which can include:
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms
Depression
Confusion
Anger
This is for what meditation, exercise and self care are important
2. Spend time with family
The quarantine period should prove to be good in terms of quality time with family, a better understanding of kids and for day to day activities. If one has been able to spend more time with one's parents. The only thing affected is travel and personal visits, both official and personal. However, we are well connected through Zoom calls, telephone calls, e-mails etc, and work is going on as usual except field visits and travelling.
3. Focus on the present
While the current focus should be on responding to the pandemic and on coping with its immediate effects, the lessons which we collectively learn from such a crisis situation are equally if not more important, as we know that the next global crisis – the climate crisis – is already well under way, building up its destructive potential around the globe. This is of particular relevance for the younger generations. They will inherit the political and economic systems that are now being reshaped in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and their future is being mortgaged with enormous debt as governments are mobilizing unprecedented stimuli packages to avoid a deep recession.
4. Don’t get over stressed ..don't spend too much time worrying, What’s not in out control
While it may seem like there’s nothing you can do about stress at work and home, there are steps you can take to relieve the pressure and regain control.

It narrows your ability to think clearly, function effectively, and enjoy life. It may seem like there’s nothing you can do about stress. The bills won’t stop coming, there will never be more hours in the day, and your work and family responsibilities will always be demanding. But you have a lot more control than you might think.
