Freedom from self inflicted opinions

What are self-inflicted opinions

The definition of self inflicted is something that you bring upon yourself or cause to have happened to you. An example of self inflicted is a wound you cause to yourself when you cut yourself with a knife. Inflicted on oneself by oneself, as an injury.

We sometimes in our mind just feel small of ourselves

The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.

The trouble lies here that when we’re not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them; they control us.

What should be our approach in such circumstances

Love yourself—accept yourself—forgive yourself—and be good to yourself, because without you the rest of us are without a source of many wonderful things. – Leo F. Buscaglia

Even though everyone struggles with their purpose now and then, we tend to keep it to ourselves and try to navigate this feeling on our own. Maybe we’re afraid of sounding weird, or admitting that we don’t always know what we’re doing. And that can be really isolating

We relate each incidence and circumstances to this self opinion and this gets even larger

Sometimes a stressful situation just lasts a moment — like getting through a school play audition or making the foul shot that could win the game.

But life also can bring situations that might keep us stressed for a few days, weeks, or months. Even if we're not always thinking about this stress, it can be like a background soundtrack playing in our lives.

What should be done in such situations

One should keep one's confidence intact. Confidence means feeling sure of yourself and your abilities — not in an arrogant way, but in a realistic, secure way. Confidence isn't about feeling superior to others. It's a quiet inner knowledge that you're capable.

Confident people feel secure rather than insecure once know they can rely on their skills and strengths to handle whatever comes up feel ready for everyday challenges like tests, performances, and competitions think "I can" instead of "I can't"

We do insane things to kill these thoughts by either fighting or by doing something which is not appropriate

Unwanted intrusive thoughts are stuck thoughts that cause great distress. They seem to come from out of nowhere, arrive with a whoosh, and cause a great deal of anxiety.

Some unwanted intrusive thoughts consist of repetitive doubts about relationships, decisions small and large, sexual orientation or identity, intrusions of thoughts about safety, religion, death or worries about questions that cannot be answered with certainty. Some people are so overwhelmed with emotions that they are prone to take some extreme steps like suicide.

What should be done in such situations

We must learn that these thoughts, however, are just thoughts. They seemingly appear out of nowhere and cause anxiety, but they have no meaning in your life. They’re not warning messages or red flags. They’re simply thoughts.

As long as you recognize that these are thoughts only and you have no desire to act on them.

When we watch these thoughts as a watcher we will not associate with it.

Unwanted intrusive thoughts are reinforced by getting entangled with them, worrying about them, struggling against them, trying to reason them away. They are also made stronger by trying to avoid them. Leave the thoughts alone, treat them as if they are not even interesting, and they will eventually fade into the background.

Conclusion

Still these thoughts do not get killed by themselves. The only way to get rid of these thoughts is by being aware of where these thoughts are coming from.

When we watch these thoughts as watcher we will not associate with it

That’s when we will get freedom from self-inflicted opinions.
