How To Become Competitive
What is a competition?
Competition is a situation in which someone is trying to win something or to be more successful than someone else. Athletes are competing for gold medals, Businesses are competing for the most talented employees and the biggest market share and even trees are constantly competing for available sunlight, water, and nutrients. There is competition everywhere around us. In general, competition is good, as it drives improvement.
What happens when there is a competition in businesses
When two businesses compete against each other, then they are motivated to find new better ways to operate. They want to reduce the price of the project, and improve the quality at the same time, to ensure that more people buy from them. This stimulates innovation and also enables customers to buy products at more affordable prices.
To be competitive, Build your competence
It has been seen, that the idea of competition is so ingrained in our minds, not even at a school level but even at the Postgraduate level or in any aspect of our lives, that it creates a lot of unnecessary stress
Competition is a good thing. If you are incompetent and you are in a competition, you will feel stressed. If you want to be in a competitive situation, the thing is you have to work on your competence. Right now the problem is, that you’re tweaking your desire, you are not tweaking your competence. This is what has to happen, that we must teach children to tweak their competence, not their desire. We are calling this ambition, we are calling this goal oriented-ness.
Ambition means what?
You tweaked up your desire. You’ll suffer, invariably. If you tweak your competence, you will see that wherever you go, you are doing better than what people expect you to. So, naturally, things will go well for you.
Is competition a bad thing
Competition is not a bad thing, lack of competence is a bad thing. We must understand this - in this country, this is very important because we still think our education is cooked in heaven. After all, it’s usually seen that temples are crowded just before the examination. Just the wrong place to be. During the vacation, you sat in the temple, great. So instead of competence, we have big desires.
What happens when you enhance your competence
If you focus enough on enhancing your competence, you will see there is such joy in breaking limitations everyday and becoming something better. You don’t care a damn how somebody else is doing. Hence everyday if you are breaking limitations, what it should be is a class full of children should sound like eggs hatching.
If you are working constantly to expand, you don’t even have the time to look at somebody, how is he doing, because this is such a great thing happening within you. So please focus on your competence. Competition you don’t bother. If you are good, you’ll be on the top, otherwise you’ll be somewhere else.
How to win a competition?
Whenever you play a game against a stranger, a person you don’t know, you tend to bring out your full potential and play, without worrying about the outcome of the game but when you play against someone known to you, it becomes very hard to bring out that potential. What should you do?
You don’t have to win against a friend and anyways if you are in a serious competition against an opponent, you must understand the more familiar you are about his/her ways of doing things, the more enabled you are to defeat that person, so an opponent should never be a stranger.
Coming to the facts
Today all sports people are spending hundreds of hours, watching videos of their opponents, this happened in the year 1998, 99, Andrea Gussie and Boris Becker played three games. All Boris Becker beat Andrea Agassi because he had such a boom boom because of the service. His service was so powerful, there was no game every time, he will serve, serve and finish the game, nobody returned the ball. So Andre Agassi went back and studied hundreds of hours of Boris Becker’s seves, then he figured it out. In the next three years, he played 11 games with him and beat him on 10 of them.
Conclusion
The person you are competing with should not be unfamiliar to you, you must make him familiar. You must know him better than he knows himself. It’s the most important thing.
