What are the exams in schools and colleges
An examination (exam or evaluation) or test is an educational assessment intended to measure a test-taker's knowledge, skill, aptitude, physical fitness, or classification in many other topics. A test may be administered verbally, on paper, on a computer, or in a predetermined area that requires a test taker to demonstrate or perform a set of skills. On philosophical grounds, are exams important
The question arises are you going to school to learn something or are you going to school to prove something?
This is one thing you have to decide. Everyone needs to decide. Once you go to any place to prove something about yourself, sickness will set in.
Sickness of failure and success will set in, but for one who has to learn, for him, there's no such thing as a failure and no such thing as success.
It's just a question of striving. If your interest is to learn, striving is a part of learning. To be able to strive relentlessly, itself is huge learning.
The only thing which needs to be learned is
Don't try to prove anything. Don't try to improve your memory. You go to school, not to remember something rubbish, to learn something. To enhance the horizons of your life.
You had to know and understand something about this existence around you. This is what is science, this is what is mathematics, this is what you are studying is not a subject. Different pieces of life may be presented in a most uninteresting way, but still, it's life.
Whether you study physics, chemistry or biology, social sciences or geography, you are learning something that could enhance the scope and play of your life. If you learn from it, it will hardly transform your life. Getting a few marks more or less on the 10th or 12th standard will not make a big difference. How sensibly, how wonderfully, with how much competence you live your life is important, how much you remember is not important.
Conclusion
But the question here arises – Is examination necessary in school?
The answer to this question is a big
Yes
Exams are a part of growing up, they are really important and necessary when it comes to knowledge testing.
Examinations are not meant for creating a feeling of depression among students, they are meant to create a sense of responsibility among those learners to remember the concepts and present them in the most valuable form.
