TV Serials- Do they pass time or kill time

 

 

What are daily soaps and TV serials? 

A soap opera, or soap for short, is a typically long-running radio or television serial, frequently characterised by melodrama, ensemble casts, and sentimentality. The term "soap opera" originated from radio dramas originally being sponsored by soap manufacturers.

One can say, a serial drama is performed originally on a daytime radio or television program and is chiefly characterised by tangled interpersonal situations and melodramatic or sentimental treatment.

Do Indian TV serial makers believe that the audience is foolish?

In an Indian TV singing show, they show a contestant In the audition round how he has struggled a lot,. His family conditions financially are so bad that even they can't afford to eat, and he is the only sole bread earner in his house.

And in a recent episode, even one of the judges' and a renowned music director commented after his performance that this guy learned to sing just 3 weeks back.

Now here comes the reality

Just to increase the show's TRP and TV Channel's Liv TRP they have shown all these just to make a fool of the audience and gain sympathy emotionally. Later on, it was discovered that the same guy was a winner of some other reality show, on some other channel, when he was a kid.

Note: I am not against that channel or that guy but just wanted to show how people make a fool of us.

Why do Indian TV serials suck 

And what is common among all these beautiful ladies who are the centre of attraction of all daily soaps and serials?

1). They can never do anything wrong.

2). They respect everyone. The paternal uncles, paternal aunties, husbands, children, grandads, grannies, neighbours, cats, dogs, and the list goes on…

3). They do good for all. They never get angry. They can't harm even the person who has tried to kill them. Everyone should be happy! Even if the person has shot her in the head)

4). They are superwomen. Get up at 5, cook food for 100 people at home, go to the office, fare better than anybody else in the office, get back, cook dinner and still look eternally fresh throughout the day. And they are never tired 

6). They can never take any wrong decision. Even though initially it may seem wrong, in the long term it's the best for the whole family.

7). They can be dressed 24 x 7 in heavy attires and have makeup even while sleeping!!

They can be a mother to a 28-year-old when they are 30 in real life!!

Oh please! Show something real. I'm also a female. Even if I become someone's wife, I will seek the full right to get angry and tired. I do disagree with my mom at times. I cannot be well groomed 24 x 7. I will fight. I wish to be loved by all in my family. Be human.

Are these daily soaps and serials healthy to watch

•Reality and Logic 

It's really bad for the Indian TV industry that their content is extremely rotten. Have you ever wondered that in Foreign lands the small screen and silver screen don't have much difference and discrimination: in the sense that many movie actors are also ready to do good TV shows?

But in India, there's a huge distance…in fact, TV actors are always considered low, even inspite of  some being the finest actors in the country!

• They lack creativity and a fresh script 

One mother-in-law gave her daughter-in-law a saree on Diwali. She didn't like that Saree at all and was making faces ….. she liked the saree given to another daughter-in-law of her own home . Then she went to the kitchen and due to jealousy put lots of salt in the sweet kheer made by that other daughter in law

It was like what ? ?? Who does so? Yupp this was only the story of that episode in the whole 40 min.

How can we even expect them to grow as actors with such rotten scripts?

•Concept of illogical vamps

Two women fighting for one man! They take more than 1 year to decide who is the wife of that man! The decision is still pending 

The worst thing ever as per me - Portraying family members as Vamp! Especially the Mother in law and an evil daughter-in-law 

In my opinion, the worst thing is the regressive nature of these shows:

These shows portray women as how society expects them to be with forgotten ambitions and be happy in it with all about families and kitchen politics in their life.

These shows portray the obsessive, aggressive nature of men as a simple trait instead of a problem. 

Have these makers ever met or even heard about victims of these crimes?

Which all serials fetch more audience

If some good serial is aired then the audience rejects it and the rest of the shows which means almost all shows are crap. It is like serial makers are making a fool of the audience.

The size of the bindi ( a decorative mark worn in the middle of forehead by Indian women, especially Hindus ) is proportional to the percentage of evil characters, reborn.

A person is slapped, falls on a curtain, curtained in wraps around her neck, and strangulated, dead.

A woman with an accident. Suffers a head injury. Becomes mute. Another accident. Start speaking again.

                                                                                                     

Only a few serials which made sense fetched good TRP 

Hindi mythological serials, like, Ramayana and Mahabharata and some of the shows like Discovery of India, fetched good audiences. Those who watched these serials were regular viewers of them, and they ended with a moral. 

On the contrary, some of the Indian serials were never-ending, hence the channel had to close them as their TRP fell suddenly.

Conclusion 

Most of these TV shows are big-time-killers, as the radiated mentality is shown in these serials. The ones who are time-pass, have few viewers and hence they don't stand on-air for long. The serial culture overall is having a negative character although they are very popular otherwise.
