What is the nature of existence?
The very nature of existence is such that today, it is also a scientific fact, but this is the experience of every yogi: In his existence, there is energy and there's consciousness. There is no such thing as physical matter.
Physical matter as you know it today, is just concentrated patterns of energy. Today, this is established science, but more than 40,000 years ago, when Shiva spoke, he spoke clearly. His involvement was in absolute consciousness or the energy, never in the physical matter because he did not see it as real and he spoke thus, very clearly without any ambiguity about it.
What happens when attention is there, but focus is missing
If you had to know the energy, right now, it's concentrated in the form of this body. Only if you use it in a certain way, does it crackle, otherwise, it'll sit like a lump of earth. If it has to sit here and crackle, then it has to be kept in a certain way. If your energies can crackle, and your mind is focused, then this will just build in that direction. Because the mind is shifting, and shifting, and shifting focus. It doesn't know which way to build. The very life within you is confused; it doesn't know which way to go.
What if we make our minds move in one direction
If you precisely observe, at least 95% of human energy is wasted…is simply wasted because most human beings cannot hold anything in their focus for any substantial amount of time. Otherwise, each of them would be opening a new window, a new door to something else.
Seven billion people, if they had all… had their minds and consciousness focused, everything has to yield, nothing would be unexplored, just everything.
If one keeps his mind, his energies and his consciousness organised in one direction for a certain period. He not only realises the nature of his life (Referring to oneself), and the past 84 creations that have happened, but they're also here. Everything can be explored by human consciousness.
How to describe what is Focus
There are many ways to describe this word. Instead of saying focus, if you use the word attention - would you agree that attention and focus are about the thing? There's a little difference, there are nuances to it. But when you say focus, it's just like light on something, which means only…a focus is always a spot. Attention can be much more widespread.
Right now, if you have a clear vision.
If I'm addressing you all in a hall, I'm having a problem seeing a young man, because you kept him in darkness there in the hall. But if the hall was well-lit, I didn't have to focus to see the people who were sitting there. I just need attention; if I am attentive, I will see all the people here the way they are. But now that I am interested in this young man, I need to focus.
If one keeps his mind, his energies and his consciousness organised in one direction, for a certain period, he not only realises the nature of his life. Anything and Everything could be explored by human consciousness.
What is the result of being attentive, instead of being focussed
If I had only focused on the general attention about everything around me, - indiscriminate attention I'm talking about - attention not only about something. Just being attentive, because… there is a certain level of attention and awareness within you, you even know that you exist. Otherwise, let's sleep, because there is no perception of any kind. In your experience, neither the world exists, nor you exist. All that's happened is, there is no attention, because there is no attention, there is no perception
You don't have to freeze your brain
If you meditate properly. If you sit here, you will see that your body's here, your mind will be somewhere else, and who you are is somewhere else. Once there’s a space between you and the mind. Then what the mind is not doing, what the mind is doing is not an issue. So once there's a distance between you and your mind is activity. Mind is not a problem. Mind is a miracle and not a problem. If thoughts are going continuously, if you have a mental diarrhoea, you consumed something wrong. What is wrong could be. The moment you identify yourself with something that you are not you’re finished. Your mind is a continuous run. There is no other way, do what you want. Try as hard as you want, it's not going to stop.
When you don't identify yourself with anything that you are not
If you don't identify yourself with me anything that you are not. You know how to be with everything, you know how to use everything, but you are not identified with it. Then you will see if you sit here, a simple mind will be like this gesture. If you want to use it you can use it, you can use it. Otherwise, it’ll be like this. If it happens to your mind, you are also equally ridiculous.
Conclusion
It is just that you are living in the comfort that nobody else can see it. But people can see it, if they watch you closely enough, they can see it. And whether they can see it or not that’s not the point. The point is that the most important faculty of our life is out of control. Doesn't matter whether they can see it or not, that's not the issue. The issue is that the

Not doing what you want it to do, so if you have to be freed from this element, you should stop eating bad food. Wrong food or bad, you are identifying yourself with things that you are not. Hence, be attentive and maintain your focus in one direction, the kind of life you will have, if not a successful one, a satisfied one, for sure.
